Types of Funds
Establish a fund in your name
Any of these funds can be established in your name or in the name of your family, you organization, or anyone you wish to honor. All grants distributed from your fund today and in the future are then awarded to charities in the name of your fund. It's a great way to always be involved with and remembered for, your community investment.
Acorn
Establishing an acorn fund at the Scioto Foundation is a simple and efficient way to build and endowment fund over time through installments. An acorn fund can be used to create an unrestricted, designated, scholarship, organizational endowment, donor advised or a field of interest fund.
Combination
Serves two or more interests of a donor. For example, a fund may provide support for a scholarship and community grants (unrestricted).
Designated
You can direct your gift to a specific agency or purpose. Help provide ongoing funding for a senior center, museum, your church or virtually any nonprofit charitable organization. You identify the recipient you wish to benefit through your gift; our staff manages the annual distribution of funds.
Donor Advised
You can have ongoing involvement in the use of your gift. You work with our professional grant-making staff, identifying ways to use dollars from your Donor Advised Fund to address the issues and need you care about most. Your recommendations are submitted to your local board for approval; we then distribute grant dollars.
Field of Interest
You can target your gift to address needs in an important area of community life, for example, the arts, aging, or at-risk youth. You identify your personal interest area when making your gift; our board awards grants to community agencies and programs that are making a difference in the area you select.
Organizational Endowments
Some 501 (c) 3 nonprofits have endowment funds which are difficult for them to manage. Creating an organizational endowment with the Scioto Foundation may be a solution to that problem. The Foundation provides professional administration, hands on assistance in building your endowment, supervision of investments, distributions when needed and minimal fees.
Scholarship
You can leave permanent legacy through creating a scholarship, there by assisting a local student or students to achieve his or her educational pursuits. Scholarship finds can be created for any level of education, from preschool to post-graduate work.

Are scholarship funds established by scioto county schools by assisting a local students to achieve his or her educational pursuits. UCAN stands for University/College Asses Network
Unrestricted
You can use your gift to meet ever-changing community needs, including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. We evaluate all aspects of community well-being: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environment, health and human services, neighborhood revitalization and more. The flexibility of you unrestriced gift enables our local program experts to respond to the community's most pressing needs today and tomorrow.
