Dudley & Lauralena Whipple
Gift of a Lifetime

The Dudley P. and Lauralena Whipple Memorial Fund is a restricted fund providing scholarships for students attending Shawnee State University.

Mr. Whipple, a Michigan native, was a retired engine inspector for the Norfolk & Western Railway. He served in the Canadian Army in World War I, was a 32nd degree Mason and Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Whipple was a member of the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati, Business and Professional Men's Club, Portsmouth Lodge of Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles, United Commercial Travelers, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, and a life-time member of Fraternal Order of Police.

Mrs. Whipple, a Portsmouth native, was the daughter of Charles and Ethel Luther Heinisch. She retired after many years of service as a bookkeeper with Knapp Bookkeeping. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, a life-time member of Southern Ohio Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
