Delivering Your Policy Message

Enjoy a lunch with you nonprofit peers and learn some strategies and techniques to effectively educate important elected locals, state and federal officials.

Instructors:
Debbie Basham is District Administrator for the Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District For more than a decade, she has served in the capacity as director of the daily operations of the organization. In 2003, Basham was recognized as the Ohio Association of Soil and water Conservation District Employees Professional of the Year. For the last two years, Basham served on the Scioto County Foundation's Nonprofit Committee. Basham also serves on the Scioto County Farm Bureau.

Treva Williams is the OSU Scioto County Extension Director. Williams has served as an OSU Extension Educator for more than 21 years and County Extension Director for over 10 years. She earned a B.S.(Berea College) and M.S.(Murray State University) degree in Home Economics Education. Williams also has served for the past two years on the Scioto County Foundation's Nonprofit Committee.

Instructor:
Michael Gampp is the chief financial officer of American Savings Bank. Gampp has been with ASB since 2000. In addition, he has been an adjunct faculty member at SSU since 2004 and has operated a private CPA practice since 2000. Gampp has extensive background in charitable giving, estate planning, personal tax, succession planning and corporate tax. Gampp is a past chairman of the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, served on the board of the Portsmouth Rotary Club and is currently a board member of the Scioto Foundation.

Instructor:

Mary Ann Miars-Peercyis Executive Director of the United Way of Scioto County. As the executive director, she invites and activates resources for 15 partner agencies. She brings groups together to focus on important needs in the community building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources that have made a measurable difference in Scioto County. Miars-Peercy received a B.A from SSU and has studied and received accreditations from the Fundraising School of the Center of Philanthropy at Indiana university. Miars-Peercy volunteers and serves on numerous nonprofit committees and groups through out Ohio.
