Dean Gampp
Gift of a Lifetime
The Dean Gampp Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honor of a long-time South Webster educator Dean Maurice Gampp. It provides scholarship assistance to one or more worthy students residing in the Bloom-Vernon Local School District .
Mr. Gampp proudly and professionally served the Bloom-Vernon District for twenty-years. During his tenure he taught high school social studies courses. In addition to his teaching assignments, Mr. Gampp, known for his academics, served as the school’s Quiz Bowl and Junior Class Advisor. Mr. Gampp’s distinguished career began in 1964 and ended with his sudden death on May 30, 1985.
Gampp and his wife, Carolyn, were the proud parents of three children: Steven, Craig, and Beth. Mr. Gampp was a member of the Tri-State Church of Christ, of Ashland, Kentucky, and was a Senior Travel Counselor for the Automobile Club of Southeastern Ohio.
According to J. Paul White, then Bloom-Vernon Local Superintendent, “This scholarship was established in honor of a man who gave unselfishly and tirelessly to advance academics in the Bloom-Vernon System. By creating this scholarship fund, with a local board of trustees, it is our goal to provide financial assistance to deserving students.†White concluded by saying, “It is a privilege to establish and partner with the Scioto Foundation in establishing this scholarship.â€
