Portsmouth Area Beautification Society
Gift of a Lifetime
Local citizens established the Portsmouth Area Beautification Society Fund for the purpose of beautifying the area for area residents as a well as vistors.
The Society raised money through membership sales, fundraisers, and individual donations to match a pending $5,000 grant received from the Scioto Foundation.
Earnings from the Portsmouth Area Beautification Society Endowment Fund are used to preserve, maintain, improve and beautify the gardens in the center of Tracy Park in the city of Portsmouth.
The Beautification Society has made many improvements to the park. These improvements are: adding a stage, planters, benches, walkways, trees and flowers. These improvements were made possible through donations of money, materials, or services from area businesses, organization, labor unions, individuals, and the city of Portsmouth.
