Edward & Maxine Levi
Gift of a Lifetime

Edward and Maxine Levi created two funds at the Scioto Foundation. In 1988, they created the Edward and Maxine Levi Scholarship Fund, which benefits business majors attending Shawnee State University , and in 1989 they added an Unrestricted Fund. According to the Levi’s in 1989, we “established these funds as our way of contributing to the needs of the Portsmouth area.”

Eddie Levi retired as president of Samuel Levi and Company Furniture Store. He is a former member and President of the Chamber of Commerce, and is Past President of the Mercy Hospital Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Levi was a founding member of the Governing Committee of the Scioto Foundation, acted as the first president of WOMEN, Inc., and served a five-year appointment by the Governor to the Ohio Arts Council. Maxine was an active member and supporter of the Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center.
