Scholarships


The Scioto Foundation offers a number of scholarships each year to worthy youth in the region. Scholarships vary in size from $200 to $4,000 and are awarded annually based upon the criteria of the scholarship donor. The Volunteer Scholarship Committee of the Scioto Foundation also considers the following factors:

  • Financial need
  • Academic achievement, Post Secondary and Advance Placement Courses are highly favored
  • Leadership potential, and
  • Community involvement

To apply for scholarships, candidates must complete an wnlapplication form that includes:

  • A current transcript of all grades high school and/or college
  • One letter of reference from a member of your school faculty
  • One letter of reference from a member of your community
  • A high school graduation photo or recent photo and a one paragraph biography

The Scioto Foundation scholarship cycle:

Applications after January 1st Scholarship Material is made available
Second Friday in April Scholarship applications are due
Third Monday in May Scholarship Committee meets
A week after the decision Scholarship Award letters are sent
June 19, 2008

Scioto Foundation holds an annual Scholarship Luncheon to honor recipients,
donors, parents and Scholarship Committee members
